I certainly recall hearing how ambivalent JFK was about Martin Luther King Jr's activities. As for Edward Kennedy, I consider him a craven career politician of the worst kind. It doesn't surprise me that he'd be willing to sacrifice transgender rights on the altar of petty politics. When he announced his endorsement of Barack Obama, someone he surely knows can't win the presidency, I knew right then we couldn't trust his ass.
