In this brief video, Andrew Sullivan tells it like it is, and highlights the pathetic and seemingly self-satisfied acquiescence of the head of the Human Rights Campaign (which, as Sullivan accurately states, should be called the LGBT Rights Campaign) to the status quo by giving Obama a pass until 2017.
Sullivan calls for Joe Solomnese's resignation! As you probably know, Joe Solomnese is the head of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest asserted LGBT Rights organization.
Solomnese, of course, is quite unlikely to resign, particularly given the fact that he "received a total compensation package of $338,400 in 2008." [See here.]
With that kind of compensation package, why wouldn't Solmonese be quite satisfied?
Plus, he and a number of other professional "activists" seem to enjoy the empty rhetoric of Obama, particularly if they can be in his presence, rub elbows with him and other politicians, and even be invited to share finger food and even dine with him!
It cannot be said of Solomnese, and some other seeming political "activists" who court and hope to be rewarded by the status quo and/or with Obama's favor, of what Shakespeare said in his play Henry lV, "Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown."
This is the video with Andrew Sullivan that is well worth watching:
